We're Hiring!

Metal Roofing / Sheet Metal Fabrication

$20–$35/hr based on experience and skill level

We hire for attitude and potential—not just years of experience.

We're a growing company specializing in the fabrication and installation of standing seam metal roofing systems and related sheet metal work.

We're looking for reliable, hard-working people who take pride in quality work. Roofing or sheet metal experience is a plus, but you don't need to know standing seam metal roofing to apply. We'll teach the right person the trade.

What We're Looking For

We care more about what you can actually do and how you approach the work than how many years of experience are on your résumé.

You should:

  • Be able to read a tape measure
  • Have reliable transportation
  • Have a valid driver's license
  • Be comfortable working outdoors and in changing weather
  • Be comfortable working at heights
  • Be physically capable of walking and standing on a roof
  • Show up on time and be dependable
  • Be willing to learn
  • Pay attention to detail
  • Work safely
  • Work well as part of a team
  • Take pride in doing quality work

No roofing or sheet metal experience is required. Construction experience is preferred, but the right person can learn the trade from us.

We can teach you how to fabricate a piece of metal, use a particular tool, or install a type of trim. We can't teach you to show up every day, read a tape measure, work safely, or care about doing a good job.

What You'll Do

Our work includes the fabrication and installation of complete standing seam metal roofing systems and related components.

Metal Fabrication

  • Operate CNC brakes and shears
  • Measure, cut and form custom sheet metal
  • Fabricate drip edge, ridge caps, H/J/Z metal, hips, valleys, coping, fascia, flashing and open-faced downspouts
  • Prepare and modify panels for installation

Roofing

  • Tear off existing roofing and prepare surfaces
  • Install ice & water protection, insulation and plywood/OSB
  • Replace damaged 2x4s as needed
  • Install double-lock standing seam, corrugated and SnapLock metal panels
  • Install trim and accessory metal components
  • Perform repairs and modifications as needed

Other Work

  • Repair, remove or replace corrugated and board-and-batten siding
  • Remove, replace or repair skylights
  • Install pipe boots around roof penetrations
  • Install snow guards, soffit, gutters and downspouts
  • Use ladders, scaffolding and 2-story lifts
  • Use roofing and sheet metal tools including mechanical and handheld seamers, tin snips, drills, impacts, rivet guns, sawzalls, hand benders and more

All work is performed using required OSHA-compliant PPE, including gloves, harnesses, ropes and fall protection.

How You'll Start

If you're new to the trade, you won't be expected to know everything on day one.

New employees typically start by helping the crew from the ground while learning how we do things. This may include:

  • Measuring, bending and drilling panels
  • Preparing panels and materials
  • Helping get panels and materials to the roof
  • Setting up and breaking down jobsites
  • Cleaning up garbage and metal scraps
  • Using a magnet to collect metal scraps
  • Getting tools and materials for the crew
  • Keeping tools, vehicles and equipment organized

As you learn, you'll take on more responsibility and more skilled work.

The goal isn't to keep you doing ground work forever. The more you learn, the more you can do. The more you can do safely and independently, the more you can earn.

Pay & Advancement

$20–$35/hr based on experience and skill level.

As a general guideline:

  • Little or no construction experience: up to $20/hr

  • General construction experience: up to $25/hr

  • Roofing experience: up to $30/hr

  • Experienced sheet metal / standing seam: up to $35/hr

Able to fabricate custom components, work independently, solve problems in      the field, and eventually take responsibility for running jobs.

Occasional emergency procurement operations may be required. Company      vehicle and appropriate resources provided.

These aren't automatic pay levels based on years of experience. Experience matters, but demonstrated skill matters more.

Raises and advancement are based on things like:

  • Showing up consistently and on time
  • Learning new skills
  • Improving your work
  • Working safely
  • Taking initiative
  • Managing your time
  • Becoming more independent
  • Taking pride in the finished product

We notice when someone is improving and taking on more responsibility. We also notice when someone isn't.

Someone who needs to be told what to do every step of the way isn't going to advance as quickly as someone who sees what needs to be done and takes care of it.

At the highest level, our employees are able to fabricate custom pieces, understand which materials and tools to use and why, solve problems independently, manage their time, communicate with customers when necessary, and keep a project moving without constant supervision.

Weather & Schedule

8-hour shifts, although some days may be as long as 10 hours depending on the job.

Our work is weather dependent.

When roofing work isn't possible, newer employees may have shop work available, including:

  • Cleaning and organizing tools
  • Cleaning and organizing vehicles
  • Organizing skids and coils of metal
  • General shop cleanup and organization
  • Other productive shop work

Weather days may be handled differently depending on the employee's role and the work available.

What We Offer

  • On-the-job training
  • Competitive pay based on experience and skill
  • Steady work
  • Opportunities for advancement
  • Supportive, safety-conscious work environment
  • 401(k)
  • 401(k) matching

About Us

We're a small, hands-on company specializing in standing seam metal roofing and sheet metal fabrication. You'll work directly with the owner and experienced members of the crew, with opportunities to learn the trade and take on more responsibility as your skills develop. We've had employees stay with us for 10+ years and promote from within when opportunities arise.

Before You Apply

This is physical, outdoor work. You'll spend significant time on roofs, in changing weather and on your feet for most of the day.

You don't need to know every type of metal trim or how to install a standing seam roof before you start. Those are skills we can teach.

If you want to learn a skilled trade, take pride in your work and become someone the crew can rely on, we'd like to hear from you.

If you're looking for a job where you can do the minimum, wait to be told what to do and go home at the end of the day, this probably isn't the right job for you.
